Less than two weeks after our previous update, the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has updated the Investor Alert List again. For those who do not already know, the Investor Alert List contains the list of unauthorised websites, investment products, companies and individuals.
Since September, the SC has already published alert updates several times to add several more names to its watchlist. They include suspected clone entities and unauthorised websites with investment products.
Please take note that this list is not exhaustive and only serves as a guide to investors prior to making any investment decisions.
In our previous update, six new names were added to the list, warning potential investors of the dangers of the possibility of untrustworthy actors.
Now, an additional two more names were added.
The following person(s)/entity(ies) was/were added to the list as at 11 September 2023:
- Potential clone entity – United Global Malaysia
- Potential clone entity – Bill Morrisons Sdn Bhd
The following person(s)/entity(ies) was/were added to the list as at 26 September 2023:
- Potential clone entity – Fira Indicator
The list is updated periodically for the public’s reference. The list is available at SC’s website – https://www.sc.com.my/investor-alert. Members of the public are encouraged to alert the SC if you come across any suspicious capital market activities.
